Important Rule: You Can Apply Through Only ONE University A very important point that many applicants misunderstand is that: Under the MEXT University Recommendation Scholarship, you can be officially nominated by only ONE Japanese university in a single application cycle. This means: You may contact and communicate with professors from several universities initially. You may discuss research opportunities with multiple professors. However, once a university formally selects and nominates you for the MEXT University Recommendation Scholarship, you cannot simultaneously receive nominations from another university. You must choose one university for the final MEXT nomination. Therefore, before accepting a nomination, carefully compare universities, professors, and research opportunities. Step-by-Step Application Process Step 1: Decide Your Degree Level First decide which program you want to pursue: Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree PhD Degree Your degree level determines the application procedure. Step 2: Choose Your Research Field or Subject Clearly identify your academic field.
